Forward Illinois Senior 6-10, 240 2002-03 Stats: |
Brian Cook Notes: Big Ten Player of the Year, Third Team All-American The Skinny: Cook is an intriguing prospect with his size and skills. While he projects as a power forward and has skills more geared towards that position, he is athletic enough to play some small forward and has the outside shot to play there for spells. Cook’s game is more finesse than power, as he prefers to face the basket more than play down on the box. He has a good touch out to the college three-point line, though his forte is mid-range jump shots, he rebounds well and can be an enforcer on the post defensively. As a senior he became a very consistent player to lead Illinois to a better season than many expected, including winning the Big Ten Tournament. Cook is likely a second round pick, and he could certainly be a steal for a team at that point. Related Hoopville Articles on Brian Cook: |
