Thomas wasted no time becoming one of the Big East’s best point guards as a freshman, and was one of the nation’s best as a sophomore. He’s a very quick floor leader who penetrates very well and passes well on the move. He handles the ball well, is excellent in transition, and is a capable but streaky shooter whose shot selection at times is a little questionable. He is good defensively, is a tough competitor, and generally makes his teammates better, though on occasion he will look for his offense a little too much.
Thomas should go late in the first round as it stands, but might return to Notre Dame. With some better shot selection and a little more consistency, he could have a nice career in the NBA.
