The Skinny:

Hatten is a quick guard who scores a lot in part from shooting a lot. He does not shoot the ball well overall, but he was never very consistent and had some very good games and some very bad games from the field. Part of it is his shot selection; he will take his share of bad shots, sometimes making them. When he passes the ball he does well with it and might do well to pass it more often since he can also play out of control. He uses his quickness and leaping ability very well at both ends of the floor.

He made a lot of steals in two years at St. John’s, but that number is misleading in terms of his defensive ability, as he is about an average on-the-ball defender. Perhaps most concerning of all is that he is 6’2″ and not a point guard.

Hatten likely will not be drafted, though a team will likely invite him to their summer league roster. He will have to improve his playmaking skills a great deal to make a roster this coming season.
