A highly polished scorer similar in some respects to Raef LaFrentz, Collison won’t wow scouts or fans with highlight-film plays, but he always comes to play and knows the game well.
He has excellent hands inside, which help make him a good rebounder, he’s very strong and active on the post, and has good moves and footwork on the post. He can face the basket and hit from about foul line distance, and is also an underrated passer. He’s not a shut-down defender and can get into foul trouble, but he won’t allow opposing players to put 30 points night in and night out.
Collison should be drafted around the middle of the first round, and could hang around in the NBA for a long time. He’s solid and unspectacular, but he comes to play and there’s always a team that can use a player like that.
