Morning Dish

The Morning Dish – Sunday, June 22nd

Thrown Out: Charges against former Georgia Bulldog Tony Cole were thrown out by a judge after the plaintiff, Keshia Greely, failed to show for the second time at trial. Cole, who brought down the regime of Jim Harrick with his accusations of impropriety, had been charged with aggravated assault against Greely for allegedly threatening her with an automatic machine gun. Cole had accused Jim Harrick, Jr. of helping him financially and helping him with his studies after he had joined the team.

Arkansas: Stan Heath has added Ronny Thompson, son of former Georgetown coach John Thompson, as an assistant on his Arkansas staff. Thompson, who assisted for Georgetown under his father and under current coach Craig Esherick, also worked with the Philadelphia 76ers as director of scouting from 1996-96. He started his coaching career after playing at Georgetown by assisting at Oregon under Jerry Green, and assisting at Loyola (Maryland).

Auburn: Auburn has promoted Tracy Dildy to assistant head coach of recruiting, after joining the Tiger staff last season. Dildy, who has been an assistant for 14 seasons for DePaul, Ball State, and Illinois-Chicago, will oversee all aspects of recruiting.

Colorado: It’s official. In what was reported a few weeks ago, former Washington State coach Paul Graham has been named as an assistant to Ricardo Patton. Graham, who is replacing Larry Gay as of June 31st, will help in recruiting for the Buffs with his wide experience, from coaching elite high school teams in Texas to assisting at Oklahoma State and head coaching in the Pac-10.
