Gardner is a very quick guard who handles well in an up-tempo style, but can settle the team in the halfcourt as well. He’s a smart point guard who passes well and gets his own shot in the flow of the offense, though he at times looks for his shot a little too much. He has a good jump shot from long range and makes a lot of plays at both ends of the floor. He’s also not afraid to make plays against the big guys inside, including driving, and over his career he made plenty of clutch shots.
While he is a good playmaker, his game as a point guard still needs some development, and teams are concerned about his height.
Gardner is likely a second round pick, and he will have to work hard to make a team’s roster next season. Most likely, he will spend some time in a developmental league before donning an NBA uniform.
