Indiana Wins: Yesterday Monroe (Indiana) Circuit Court Judge Kenneth Todd ruled in favor of the University of Indiana, thus ending the Bobby Knight lawsuit in Bloomington. The school’s motion for a summary judgment was granted, which effectively ended Knight’s wrongful termination suit without a trial. Knight claimed that the school fired him against stipulations in his contract, and sued the school for $2 million in lost revenue from camps, media gigs and endorsements. Knight was fired in May 2000 for violating a “zero tolerance” policy by grabbing the arm of a student. He coached 29 seasons at Indiana, winning three national championships with the Hoosiers. Judge Todd indicated that how Knight was fired had no bearing on his compensation.
