Notes: Co-National Player of the Year, First-Team All-American, National Defensive Player of the Year, MVP NCAA Final Four, Big East Player of the Year, seventh all-time leading shotblocker in NCAA history with 441.
The Skinny:
Very athletic post player is an excellent shot-blocker and a good rebounder. He uses good timing and his good leaping ability to block shots and also get offensive rebounds, and he is an intelligent player on the floor. His offensive skills have developed nicely, as he has a good touch from just outside the paint and a reliable jump hook, and he’ll outrun opponents to get easy baskets on occasion. The big question is if he can play center in the NBA; he might be miscast in the power forward spot, but the NBA hasn’t had many 6’9″ centers over the years.
