Team: San Diego State Position: Forward Year: Freshman Size: 6’8″, 220 Stats (per game): 9.2 points / 5.1 rebounds Notes: McDonald’s All-American 2003; 2004 Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year. The Skinny: Burns is in the draft because he cannot go back to school. Aztecs’ head coach Steve Fisher dismissed the oft unhappy Burns for academic reasons and ever since he has been preparing for the draft. Athletic and long the former McDonald’s All-American considered spurning San Diego and going straight to the NBA, but now he is a likely going to have to play overseas. Not only are his attitude and desire in question he also tore his anterior cruciate and has not completely recovered, which should scare most NBA scouts away from his game.
