Jackie Butler

Jackie Butler

Team: Coastal Christian Academy (Virginia Beach, Va.)
Position: Forward
Year: High School Senior
Size: 6’10”, 250

Stats (per game): 29.3 points / 17.0 rebounds

Notes: Named Mr. Basketball in the state of Mississippi at McComb High School in 2001-02 and 2002-03. Chosen as a 2003 McDonald’s All-American.

The Skinny:
He’s been thinking about the NBA for a long time and was the first to declare for the draft this year. Originally committed to play at Mississippi State but failed to qualify academically. Butler has good size and some scoring tools on the low post, including decent footwork, but he doesn’t bring it on a consistent basis. He takes possessions off from time to time and isn’t the factor on the boards that he could be. It will be a major surprise if he gets drafted at all.
