Illinois State Dismisses Gordon: Illinois State has announced that Lorenzo Gordon, reigning Missouri Valley Conference newcomer of the year, has been dismissed from school for academic reasons. Gordon led the Redbirds in scoring and rebounding with a 16.3/6/5 split last season. Gordon, a St. Louis native, transferred from Mineral Area (Mo.) Community College before last season. His departure leaves only one starter from the RedBirds’ 17-13 team. [5/27/05]
