Kimble Gets an Extra Year: The NCAA has announced that University of Texas-El Paso center will received an additional year of eligibility, and will play this upcoming season. Kimble, who started his career at Pepperdine in 2000, collapsed during a practice his junior season, and sat out a season after being diagnosed with the same heart condition that claimed the life of Hank Gathers. Kimble then received his doctor’s clearance to resume his career, but Pepperdine would not give him clearance. Kimble then transferred to UTEP, but had to sit out an additional year due to NCAA transfer rules. [5/26/05]
