Big Sky Eyes Expansion: Joining the trend among NCAA conferences, the Big Sky might attempt to strengthen itself through expansion. With eight schools composing the conference, it may expand to 12, including the adoption of North Dakota State. Both sides are interested, but conference officials are wary of adding North Dakota State because the addition would require long-distance travel for sports teams. The conference will discuss the issue during its annual meetings next week. Northern Colorado will join the Big Sky starting in 2006-07. [10/01/05]
