Tennessee: Hendrix No Longer a Volunteer, Patterson Suspended

Hendrix No Longer a Volunteer, Patterson Suspended: Tennessee senior forward Jemere Hendrix has been dismissed from the university, following an altercation with Tennessee football player Daniel Brooks. Hendrix was on a team probation following his arrest in August for marijuana possession and driving without a license. Brooks, who had been suspended from Philip Fullmer’s football squad all season, had been accused of hitting fellow students, and was rumored to have an ongoing feud with basketball player Andre Patterson, a transfer from UCLA. Apparently over the weekend Brooks was involved in an altercation with both Hendrix and Patterson. Both Brooks and Hendrix were dismissed from the university, and Patterson has been suspended indefinitely. Hendrix walked on at Tennessee after transferring from Clemson in 2002. He averaged 2.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 28 games lasts season. [10/4/05]
