Former coach Jerry Dunn had banned the style because he associated it with a street ethos he didn’t want the team to exude. But the Nittany Lions haven’t exuded any ethos for several years now, finishing in last in the Big Ten four years’ running. If Jackson wins the starting point guard spot from junior Ben Luber, maybe everyone on the team will follow his lead and braid whatever hair rests on their heads. OK, so that’s not a good idea.
