Holley Prefers Football: Would-be North Carolina backup point guard Jesse Holley has declined an opportunity to join the Tar Heels basketball team. The wide receiver considers his best professional opportunity to be on the gridiron, not the hardwood, so he will focus his energy on improving his football skills. Although Holley averaged only 1.3 points and 1.6 minutes per game last season, he may have earned more playing time this season because starting point guard Quentin Thomas has been sidelined with a stress fracture. So far, freshman Bobby Frasor has handled the point admirably, but depth is never a bad thing. [12/09/05]
