Eagles Bailing Out: Southern Mississippi qualifies as one of the worst teams in college basketball with several ugly losses to the likes of Samford and Sam Houston State. The team has scored less than 40 points in three games already. Now the Golden Eagles must address a short-handed lineup after junior forward Kendaris Pelton announced he will transfer to another school and junior forward Shaun Simpson temporarily left the team for personal reasons. Simpson leads the offensively challenged Eagles with 9.3 points per game. Pelton averaged 2.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per game in 26.7 minutes per game.
