Red Raider Quits Team: Texas Tech coach Bob Knight and freshman guard Terry Martin reached a mutual agreement that Martin should quit the team. The deal was made after the Red Raiders’ loss at Texas A&M, in which Martin did not appear on the bench. Martin played in the team’s first 14 games, averaging 7.4 points and 3.6 rebonds per game. He was the team’s fourth leading scorer on a team full of inexperienced players. Knight recruited seven freshmen and one JuCo transfer for this year’s Red Raider team. [1/9/06]
