Cougar Coach Apologizes: College of Charleston coach Tom Herrion was none too pleased with the referees in the Cougars’ 71-68 loss to Georgia Southern Monday, and he let the world know after the game. He said the officiating was horrible and hinted that the officials were biased against the Cougars. By openly criticizing the referees, Herrion violated a Southern Conference’s policy. He apologized for any negative remarks he made about the officials yesterday. At the end of the game, College of Charleston had 24 fouls and Georgia Southern had 17. [1/12/06]
