Terp Faces Assault and Sex Charges: Maryland senior forward Travis Garrison has been charged with assault and a sex offense resulting from an incident at a bar in October. Garrison turned himself in to Prince George’s County, Md., police after a Maryland graduate student accused him of grabbing her buttocks three times at a bar and then slapping her in the face when she shoved him. The charges are both misdemeanors, but Garrison could face as much as 11 years in prison. Garrison averages 9.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for the Terps.
Update: Maryland has suspended Garrison for today’s game against Wake Forest. Coach Gary Williams said Garrison violated a team rule by being at a bar. The suspension is for only one game.
