Cats Kick Out Rodgers: Arizona coach Lute Olson has dismissed senior guard Chris Rodgers, potentially ending his career at the college level. Olson did not offer a specific reason for Rodgers’ removal, but he had said that he would evaluate all his players to solve some chemistry problems. Rodgers also has complained recently about his role. He wanted more minutes and an opportunity to lead the team to victory. The Wildcats have lost three of their last four. Rodgers averages 10.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. Without Rodgers, Arizona’s defense takes a hit, which could spell trouble for the rest of the season in the Pac-10. The conference is more balanced than it has been in past years. [1/19/06]
