Wildcats Down Second Guard in Two Days: Arizona lost a second important member of its backcourt for the second consecutive day. Sophomore guard Jawann McClellan had surgery to repair an injured wrist, which will force him to miss the remainder of the season. McClellan had earned a spot in the starting lineup ahead of senior guard Chris Rodgers. The team dismissed Rodgers because coach Lute Olson was fed up with his attitude. Rodgers had complained more than once about playing time and the team’s scheme, even though he was a central figure in the team’s plans. The two combined to average nearly 15 points per game. Most of that came from Rodgers as McClellan missed the first semester and winter break because he was academically ineligible. [1/20/06]
