Michigan: Michigan Hopes Injury Bug Only Bites Once

Michigan Hopes Injury Bug Only Bites Once: Last season, a promising Michigan team ran into disaster when five players who delivered significant contributions missed large portions of the season. Junior guard Lester Abram missed 26 games because of a shoulder injury. Abram may miss time again this season because of an ankle injury, but team trainers remain unsure how long he will be out. Abram sprained his ankle against Minnesota last weekend, and the original diagnosis was a high ankle sprain, which takes several weeks to heal. But they now think it might only be a severe ankle sprain that could heal more quickly. Either way, Abram, who averages 12.1 points per game and shoots better than 45 percent from three-point range, will almost definitely miss the Wolverines’ game at Michigan State tomorrow night.
