Cardinal KO: Stanford slipped past Oregon State 71-64 yesterday despite playing much of the game without senior center Matt Haryasz. The team’s leading scorer took a finger to the eye late in the first half, and his eye immediately swelled shut. Haryasz averages 18.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game for the suddenly surging Cardinal. Stanford needs Haryasz to recover quickly because the Cardinal play California and Gonzaga this coming week. Two wins could propel Stanford back into the thick of NCAA Tournament consideration. [2/05/06]
