Hill Might be Done at St. John’s: St. John’s junior guard Darryl Hill might not play again for the Red Storm because of a chronic knee injury. A problem with cartilage in his left kneecap caused persistent swelling and pain, limiting Hill’s effectiveness. As a short guard, Hill relies on his quickness and agility, two elements of the game that the knee injury significantly hampered. Hill will visit a knee specialist and may have microsurgery in an attempt to repair the cartilage. Without a successful operation, Hill may not be able to effectively play basketball again. He leads the team with 12.3 points per game and considered jumping to the NBA last season. [2/15/06]
