Wright Rewarded for Success: Villanova coach Jay Wright is having a good week. First, the Wildcats knocked off No. 1 Connecticut to claim first-place in the Big East. Then the school handed Wright a seven-year contract extension that will keep him on the Main Line well into the next decade. The school needed approval from its board of trustees before officially extending Wright’s contract. The board happened to meet the morning after the Connecticut victory, so the timing, though coincidental, is perfect. The school had contemplated an extension for Wright after Villanova’s run in the NCAA Tournament last season. [2/15/06]
