North Carolina State: Wolfpack Senior Injures Ankle

Wolfpack Senior Injures Ankle: North Carolina State senior forward Ilian Evtimov injured a foot in the Wolfpack’s win against Florida State Wednesday. Evtimov sprained a ligament, but team trainers did not find any fractures or tears, which means that Evtimov won’t miss a significant amount of time. But he could miss a few games, depending on how sore the foot feels in practice. Evtimov is the Wolfpack’s third leading scorer, averaging 11.6 points per game, and he shoots better than 43 percent from three-point range. The Wolfpack jack up more three-point attempts than any other team in the ACC, as they will pass the 600 mark for the season this weekend at Virginia Tech. Evtimov’s loss would reduce the number of weapons in coach Herb Sendek’s arsenal as the Wolfpack vie for second place in the ACC. [2/17/06]
