Razorbacks Pay for Celebration by Few: SEC officials fined Arkansas $2,500 for allowing students to storm the court following the Razorbacks’ overtime victory against Florida Saturday. But the celebration wasn’t the grand spectacle that most observes imagine. Only 20-25 students flowed onto the court, but that two dozen still violated the conference’s policy that no students can step onto the court before, during or after a game. The SEC has different fine levels for first-time offenders, second offenses and subsequent offenses. The penalty jumps from $2,500 to $25,000 from the first to second incident. [2/21/06]
