George Washington: Pops Hopes Surgery Leads to Fast Recovery

Pops Hopes Surgery Leads to Fast Recovery: George Washington senior forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu had surgery yesterday to remove some cartilage from his left knee, which he injured Feb. 22. He slightly tore his left meniscus against La Salle. The Colonials have won both games they played since Mensah-Bonsu went down, although they struggled to dispatch lowly St. Bonaventure last night. Mensah-Bonsu will miss next week’s Atlantic 10 Tournament while he recovers, but he should be available for the NCAA Tournament in two weeks. [3/02/06]
