Patriot League Tournament: No. 1 Bucknell beat No. 8 Army 59-47, picking up the team’s second win against the Black Knights in a week. Junior center Chris McNaughton led the Bison with 14 points and helped Bucknell take control of the game midway through the second half. Bucknell moves on to play No. 4 American.
American beat No. 5 Lafayette 75-62 after breaking the game open in the second half. The Eagles drained three consecutive three-pointers as part of a 13-1 run that produced an 18-point lead. Junior guard Linas Lekavicius scored a season-high 18 points to lead the Eagles.
No. 2 Holy Cross advanced to Patriot League Conference semifinals by beating No. 7 Navy 78-50. Guards Kevin Hamilton and Keith Simmons each scored 19 points, and Hamilton added 10 rebounds for a double-double. The Crusaders will play No. 3 Lehigh Saturday.
Lehigh held on to beat No. 6 Colgate 48-44 despite blowing most of a 10-point lead in the closing minutes. Sophomore forward Bryan White helped seal the game with two critical free throws in the final minute. [3/03/06]
