Mid-Continent Conference Championship: No. 1 Oral Roberts exorcised some demons by beating upstart No. 6 Chicago State 85-72 in the Mid-Continent Conference Championship. Junior guard Ken Tutt scored 25 points to help the Golden Eagles return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1984. Last season, Oral Roberts was heavily favored against No. 7 Oakland but lost a heartbreaking championship game. Chicago State appeared game to reprise the tragedy after leading 34-33 at halftime. But the Cougars couldn’t stop Oral Roberts, who scored 18 consecutive points early in the second half. [3/07/06]
