Ray Clear to Play: Just days after a gruesome and frightening injury, Villanova senior guard Allan Ray received word from doctors that he can fully practice and play with the team. During the Big East Tournament semifinals vs. Pittsburgh, Carl Krauser accidentally poked Ray in the eye while the two chased a loose ball, causing what at the time was considered to be a severe injury that could have blinded Ray. Specialists responded quickly, and he’s received complete medical attention. Villanova expects Ray to return to practice Wednesday. The Wildcats will face the winner of the play-in game between Hampton and Monmouth Friday in Philadelphia. [3/14/06]
