USC: Pruitt Pestered by Victoria’s Secret

Social Networking Gone Awry: According to several sources, a prank was pulled on USC starting guard Gabe Pruitt by Cal-Berkeley students, who created a fake online persona (“Victoria”) who chatted with Pruitt online. At the Saturday, March 4th game against USC, Cal students started chanting “Victoria” as Pruitt was introduced, causing Pruitt to exhibit a new entry into Bill Simmons’ Pantheon of Faces. Transcripts of the chat sessions were distributed to the crowd, with lines such as, “You look like you have a very fit body. Now I want to c u so bad,” and the crowd chanted “Victoria” every time Pruitt had the ball. Pruitt, the Trojans’ second-leading scorer who averages 17 points per game, was ineffective the entire contest – tallying 12 points on 3-of-13 shooting from the field, with six turnovers.
