One Tiger Stays, One Tiger Goes: LSU forwards Tyrus Thomas and Glen Davis announced their NBA Draft plans. The freshman, Thomas, will enter the NBA Draft after a sensational NCAA Tournament in which he grabbed the attention of scouts. On the other hand, the sophomore, Davis, will return for another season with the Tigers. Thomas averaged 12.3 points and 9.2 rebounds per game for LSU this past season, while Davis added 18.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
Thomas’ athleticism impressed everyone who watched him during the NCAA Tournament. He has the ability to jump sky-high to block or alter shots. Despite a raw offensive game, he offers the type of athleticism and versatility that NBA teams drool over. Although he might be a Marvin Williams-type project at the next level, some team near the top of the draft will find him impossible to pass over. [4/18/06]
