The New York Giants signed former George Mason star Jai Lewis, giving him an opportunity to earn a roster spot as a tight end or offensive tackle. He has not played football since high school. The same is true for former Connecticut forward Ed Nelson. He joined the St. Louis Rams’ roster on a two-year contract. But he is a darkhorse candidate to remain on the roster. The Rams selected two highly rated tight ends in the NFL Draft this past weekend. So Nelson must flash some gridiron excellence to remain with the Rams. [5/03/06]
