Big East to Talk Scheduling: When Big East coaches meet in Florida for their annual meeting later this month, they will possibly decide to expand the conference schedule so that every team plays all 15 other Big East schools at least once. This past season, Big East teams played 13 other schools, including three home-and-home series. If the coaches don’t want to extend the conference season to 18 games, they could limit the home-and-home match ups to one. Some coaches want to push commissioner Mike Tranghese to consider expanding the Big East Tournament to include all 16 teams, but he remains reluctant to do so. The coaches will also consider a proposal for an SEC/Big East challenge that would feature four teams per season. [5/04/06]
