Former Redbird Coach Dies: Longtime Illinois State coach James Collie, 84, died Monday after a three decade-long battle with multiple sclerosis. Collie coached the Redbirds in the 1950s and ’60s and led the team to a 202-139 record. He coached for 12 years at Illinois State and helped make the school relevant in the college basketball world.
