Towe and Lowe: The Wolfpack’s search for Herb Sendek’s replacement ended with the hiring of Sidney Lowe. Lowe named his first staff member in Monte Towe as associate head coach. Towe spent the last
five seasons as the head coach of New Orleans, where he compiled a 70-78 record. Towe was the starting point guard of North Carolina State’s 1974 national championship team and later recruited Lowe who ran the point for the 1983 installment of the Wolfpack’s national champs. [5/14/06]
