Sendek Sticks It to Duke: Arizona State coach Herb Sendek took the job on the West Coast partially to escape the constant criticism surrounding the North Carolina State program. As the Wolfpack’s coach, his fan base remained irritated that the Wolfpack didn’t regularly beat rivals Duke and North Carolina and that the Wolfpack didn’t attract the biggest names in recruiting. With the arrival of Duke transfer Eric Boateng in Tempe, Sendek already has one former McDonald’s All-American on board. Boateng decided to leave Duke after his freshman season because he played only 2.5 minutes per game. [5/17/06]
