Groundbreaking Expected for New Saint Louis Arena: The Board of Trustees for Saint Louis University has approved a resolution that authorizes the construction of an $80 million, on-campus arena.The arena will be paid for through fundraising efforts and $8 million in funding and bonds, which the school will repay with revenues generated from the arena. The facility will include a 10,600-seat arena, two practice courts, and athletic department offices and support facilities. In addition, state-of-the-art strength and conditioning and sports medicine areas will be part of the facility. Groundbreaking for the facility will take place by September, and the university will announce a specific date sometime during the summer. Saint Louis has not yet picked a name for the facility.
