Marquette Freshman Never Played a Minute: Marquette has dismissed redshirt freshman forward Matt Mortensen for actions that caused him to be ineligible. The school would not specify the details, but the athletic director said the situation does not involve Mortensen’s academic record. Mortensen figured to make a contribution to the team sometime in the next four years after sitting out last season. He averaged 23 points and six rebounds in his last year of high school. [5/22/06]
