Shields Extended in Little Rock: Arkansas-Little Rock has extended the contract of head coach Steve Shields through 2011. Shields has guided the men’s program to back-to-back Sun Belt Conference East Division championships during his first three years, while being recognized for his tireless work as 2004 Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year, becoming the first coach to ever receive the award in his first season as a Division-I head coach. Women’s head coach Joe Foley and AD Chris Peterson also had their contracts extended for the same length. [6/09/06]
