Former Purdue Coach Gene Keady out as Toronto Assistant: Legendary former Purdue coach Gene Keady is out as an assistant for the Toronto Raptors. Toronto media relations director Jim LaBumbard said Keady’s one-year contract wasn’t renewed. Keady, who retired in March 2005 after going 512-270 in 25 seasons at Purdue, joined coach Sam Mitchell’s staff in December. The Raptors finished 27-55 this past season. LaBumbard didn’t say why the contract wasn’t renewed.
