Texas State Selects Director of Operations: Mike Mayberry has been named the director of basketball operations at Texas State. Mayberry rounds out the staff of Doug Davalos, who was named Texas State’s head coach in early April. Mayberry brings experience as both a collegiate and high school coach as well as additional business management experience from the private sector. Mayberry served as the head coach at both the Class 3A and Class 5A levels, coaching Muleshoe, Denver City and Lubbock Coronado’s basketball programs. No Mayberry-coached team ever suffered a losing record. Mayberry also served as the top assistant and recruiting coordinator at Odessa College and South Plains College. [6/13/06]
