Charleston Ousts Herrion: The College of Charleston has fired coach Tommy Herrion, ending his four-year tenure with the Cougars. Herrion led the team to a 17-11 record this past season and compiled an 80-38 record in four years. But his forced departure is more likely the result of a strained relationship with athletic director Jerry Baker, according to speculation. The Cougars are apparently eyeing Coastal Carolina coach Buzz Peterson and Winthrop coach Gregg Marshall. [6/15/06]
