Boyle Shapes Roster and Staff at Northern Coloardo: Northern Colorado’s first season head coach Tad Boyle added assistants B.J. Hill and Shawn Ellis to his staff. Hill spent the last season as an assistant at Indian Hills Community College in Iowa. Ellis was an assistant at Cloud Community College in Concordia, Kan., for six seasons before joining Boyle.
Citing reasons such as “various” and “just don’t fit into our future plans,” Boyle also released six players before the Bears’ first season in the Big Sky Conference. Guards Marcus Frye and Darren Jefferies; forwards Michael Gordy and Dorian McDaniel as well as center Austin Thesis will not be attending Northern Colorado next season. The Bears attrition was met with some replenishment as Darren Moore — recruited by previous head coach Craig Rasmuson — and Neal Kingman signed with the Bears. [6/15/06]
