Jaguar Off Scholarship and Team: Jason McGriff will not be with South Alabama next season because of academic issues. McGriff, who transferred from Bishop State Community College, plans to focus on academics. McGriff started 20 games last season and averaged 5.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He also led the team in blocks. There is an outside chance McGriff will rejoin the team once he becomes academically eligible. But until he rejoins the team, he must pay his own way in school.
