National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Announces First Class: Kansas City, Mo., will become one of the destinations for Hall of Fame aficionados once the city completes the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame at the Sprint Center. The hall has already selected its first class, which will be inducted this November in conjunction with the final rounds of the College Basketball Experience Classic — formerly the Guardians Classic. James Naismith, John Wooden, Dean Smith, Oscar Robertson and Bill Russell are the first five Hall of Famers. All five are part of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass., which honors basketball legends at all levels of competition. [8/03/06]
