Mensah Pays for New Chance: Former Siena guard Kojo Mensah is free to eventually play for Duquesne, where he has enrolled and will pay for his own education this school year. Siena refused to release Mensah from his scholarship, even though he had considered transferring following a coaching change last year. Rather than hang around for free, Mensah has decided he’s better off paying to be at the school of his choice — which is Duquesne, coached by Ron Everhart. For those who have followed this situation, the outcome is not surprising because Duquesne was the logical choice for Mensah. He will join his former high school and AAU teammate Shawn James, who followed Everhart from Northeastern to Duquesne. Mensah will join the team for the 2007-08 season and will have two years of eligibility remaining. [9/03/06]
