Pierce Released From Jail: After an 11-month stay in an Iowa correctional facility, Pierre Pierce is a free man. Originally ordered to serve a four-year sentence for assaulting and terrorizing his then-girlfriend in 2005, Pierce, a former standout guard for the Hawkeyes, was released recently. Upon leaving the facility alongside his father, Pierce said he was glad to be free but declined any further comment.
The 23-year-old pleaded guilty in July 2005 to third-degree burglary, assault with the intent to commit sexual abuse, false imprisonment and fourth-degree criminal mischief. His two-year sentence was reduced because of good behavior and the completion of sex offender treatment. [9/26/06]
